La família dels amfílids (Amphiliidae) és constituïda per peixos actinopterigis d'aigua dolça i de l'ordre dels siluriformes.[2]
Morfologia
- L'espècie més grossa assoleix els 18 cm de llargària total, però la majoria no depassa els 12.
- Tenen 3 parells de barbes sensorials.[3]
Distribució geogràfica
Es troba a l'Àfrica tropical.[3]
