Àravorn va ser el novè capità dels Dúnedain del Nord, el grup d'homes que en les obres de J.R.R. Tolkien procedien de la desintegració dels antics regnes del nord d'Àrnor i Arthedain.

Com els seus predecessors, va néixer a Rivendell on va ser educat per Élrond mentre el seu pare Àragost vivia en la selvatjor. Al morir el seu pare el 2588 de la Tercera Edat, Àravorn es va convertir en el capità dels dúnedain.

Sota el seu lideratge, van incrementar els atacs dels orcs i dels llops, mentre el poder de Sàuron anava creixent.

Va morir l'any 2654, i va ser succeït pel seu fill Àrahad II.
