Boulengerochromis microlepis és una espècie de peix de la família dels cíclids i de l'ordre dels perciformes,[5] i la més grossa dels cíclids africans.[6]
Morfologia
Reproducció
Els adults es reprodueixen a la zona litoral.[1]
Alimentació
Els juvenils són omnívors i els adults principalment piscívors.[1]
Hàbitat
Viu a zones de clima tropical entre 24°C - 26°C de temperatura.[10]
Distribució geogràfica
Es troba a Àfrica: és una espècie de peix endèmica del llac Tanganyika, incloent-hi Burundi, la República Democràtica del Congo, Tanzània i Zàmbia.[1][11][12][13][14][15][7]
Interès gastronòmic
La seua carn és molt apreciada.[16]
Estat de conservació
Les seues principals amenaces són la sedimentació i, probablement també, la sobrepesca.[1]
