Melanostomias niger és una espècie de peix de la família dels estòmids i de l'ordre dels estomiformes.
Morfologia
Hàbitat
És un peix marí i d'aigües profundes.[3]
Distribució geogràfica
Es troba a Austràlia;[5][6] Nova Zelanda;[7][8] des de Namíbia[9] fins a Sud-àfrica; l'Atlàntic sud (entre 20° i 50°S) i el Pacífic.[10][3][11]
