Al Canadà és depredat per Coryphaenoides rupestris i Reinhardtius hippoglossoides.[4]
Hàbitat
És un peix marí i d'aigües profundes que viu entre 0-1.000 m de fondària.[1][5]
Distribució geogràfica
Es troba a l'Atlàntic: entre el Cercle Polar Àrtic i 37°N a l'est, i entre 60°N i 40°N a l'oest.[1][6][7][8][9]
