Morfologia

Hàbitat

És un peix marí, pelàgic-oceànic i de clima subtropical (67°N-1°S, 98°W-36°E), el qual viu entre 25 i 400 m de fondària.[3][4] És un migrant estacional.[5]

Distribució geogràfica

Es troba a l'Atlàntic occidental (des de Terranova[6] i el nord del Golf de Mèxic fins a Jamaica i la República Dominicana[7] )[8][9][10][11][12][13] i a l'Atlàntic oriental (des d'Islàndia[14], Noruega i la mar Bàltica[15] fins al Golf de Guinea, incloent-hi la península Ibèrica[16], les illes Britàniques[17][18][19] i les illes Açores[20]).[21][4][22][23][24][25][26][27][28]

Observacions

És inofensiu per als humans.[4]
