Stomias boa ferox és una subespècie de peix de la família dels estòmids i de l'ordre dels estomiformes.

És un peix marí i d'aigües profundes.[4]
Distribució geogràfica
Es troba a l'Atlàntic oriental (des d'Islàndia[6] fins a les Illes Canàries)[7] i l'Atlàntic occidental (des de Grenlàndia fins als Estats Units).[8][9][4][10][11]
