Tar Minàstir (1474-1873S.E.) va ser l'onzé rei de Númenor (1691-1869), el regne dels edain enmig del mar que apareix a les obres de J.R.R. Tolkien.

Era fill d'Isilmo i va succeir la seva tieta, la reina Tar-Telpèrien, que morí sense descendència. El seu nom significa "El Guardià de la Torre".

Quan pujà al tro, Sàuron estava en guerra amb els regnes élfics de la Terra Mitjana. Havia envait Eriador i avançava cap a Lindon i Rivendell. Tar Minàstir va enviar una flota sota el comandament de Ciryatur, que va aturar l'exèrcit de Sàuron al riu Gwathló. Més tard arribaven els reforços de Lindon i Tharbad que ajudarien a derrotar Sàuron a la Batalla de Gwathló i fent-lo retirar a Mórdor.

Cap al final del seu regnat, als voltants del 1800, els numenoreans van començar a fundar establiments permanents a la Terra Mitjana, entre els que s'hi troba Úmbar.

Va abdicar el 1969 i va ser succeït pel seu fill, Tar Ciryatan. Moriria quatre anys més tard a l'edat de 399 anys.
