Morfologia

Reproducció

És ovípar amb larves i ous planctònics.[3]

Alimentació

Els adults mengen petits crustacis.[4]

Depredadors

És depredat per altres peixos (Trachurus symmetricus, Thunnus alalunga i espècies de la família Scorpionidae), cefalòpodes, ocells i mamífers marins (Zalophus californianus als Estats Units[5]).[1][6]

Hàbitat

És un peix marí i d'aigües profundes que viu entre 0-1497 m de fondària.[1][7]

Distribució geogràfica

Es troba al Pacífic nord: Japó[8][9][2] i des d'Alaska fins a la Península de Baixa Califòrnia (Mèxic).[1][10][11][12][13][14][15]
