Giacomo Agostini (Brescia, Itàlia, 16 de juny de 1942) és el pilot de motociclisme amb més títols mundials guanyats de la història (15),^[1] essent considerat el millor pilot de Gran Premi de tots els temps.^[2]

L'any 1963 aconseguí el Campionat junior d'Itàlia de motociclisme, debutant aquell mateix any en el Campionat del Món que ja correria totalment l'any 1964.

El seu primer títol mundial l'aconseguiria l'any 1966 quan va guanyar el Campionat del Món de motociclisme de velocitat de 500cc amb una MV Agusta, títol que renovaria ininterrompudament des de 1967 fins a 1972, anys en els que, a més a més, també guanyaria ininterrompudament el Campionat del Món de motociclisme de velocitat de 350cc (del 1968 al 1973). L'any 1974 deixà la MV Agusta per fitxar per Yamaha, amb la que guanyà els títols de 350cc al 1974 i 500cc al 1975.

Al llarg de la seva carrera Agostini aconseguí 15 títols mundials i 18 italians, així com 12 victòries a la Tourist Trophy. Després de retirar-se com a pilot, l'any 1977, continuà vinculat al motociclisme amb la seva pròpia escuderia i com a director dels equips Yamaha i Cagiva.^[3]

Curiositats

Agostini s'aficionà al motociclisme a 9 anys d'edat, després que el seu pare li regalés una petita Plantilla:Bike.^[3]
El 1968 guanyà totes les curses de 500cc i de 350cc
És el pilot amb més curses guanyades al Mundial: 122
És, igualat amb Mike Hailwood, el pilot que més curses ha guanyat en una temporada (1970): 19
Té el rècord de 22 podis consecutius, igualat per Valentino Rossi
