James Toseland (Sheffield, Yorkshire, 5 d'octubre de 1980) és un pilot britànic de motociclisme de velocitat, campió en dues ocasions del Mundial de Superbikes.

Carrera esportiva

Inicis

S'inicià en el fora d'asfalt, però aviat passà als circuits en la categoria de 125cc en diferents campionats britànics per, finalment, passar a categoria Supersport.

Superbike

L'any 2000 debutà al Campionat britànic de Superbike amb bons resultats, fet que li valé per passar al Campionat Mundial a la temporada següent com a company de Neil Hodgson de la mà de Suzuki. La primera victória a l'especialitat l'aconseguí l'any 2003 en el GP d'Alemanya, finalitzant tercer del Campionat d'aquell any.

L'any 2004 Toseland fitxà per Ducati com a company d'equip de Regis Laconi, amb qui es disputà el títol, aconseguint-lo finalment Toseland. L'any 2005 no aconseguí revalidar el títol, finalitzant cinqué del campionat.

El 2006 fitxa per Honda amb l'equip Ten Kate Racing, aconseguint el subcampionat mundial per radera de Troy Bayliss. L'any 2007 seguí amb Honda tot aconseguint el seu segon títol mundial de Superbike, tot aconseguint 8 victóries.

MotoGP

La temporada 2008 James Toseland donà el salt a MotoGP amb Yamaha a l'equip Tech 3, amb la que finalitzà en 11a posició del Campionat amb resultats força discrets.
